I’m a big girl now!

I meant to break the news to you but my big brother spilled the beans so, yeah.

I gotta tell you, it was NOT fun.

I didn’t know what was going on. I was afraid. I felt like crying. I wanted to go out and I didn’t know why.

Mom and dad were very supportive. They did a lot of research cause they were worried about me. Then they told me there was nothing to worry about. That it was a natural part of growing up.

So far I had liked growing up a lot. My legs got stronger and stronger and I could jump and reach ver high. I could also run faster and I like to run a lot, as you all know!

See how long and strong my legs are?

But this was not fun.

Brother Jay helped and mom and dad gave me a lot of hugs and cuddles to make me feel better.

And my human sister too! She’s cool and I like hanging out with her.

They tell me I need to go back to see the nice lady vet at some point but not just yet. I’m a little too young right now, she says.

Alas, we’ll have to wait a couple of months for that.

(you can see I’ve also been busy learning a lot of new words)

    • he he dad a little. Mom no so much as that’s how she found me. Even as a baby kitten, I already had a powerful voice. So powerful, mom was able to hear me all the way from her balcony.

  1. Atta girl Satchie! Keep exercising that voice and those long legs – you’ll be a force to be reckoned with before long (although something tells me Jay would say you already are!!). Growing up is fun in many ways – and trust me, when it’s time to go to the vet when you’re a bit older, you will be JUST FINE afterwards. Why? Because you my little growing-up nice, are very loved!

  2. I am lucky – I didn’t have one of those cycles before I was spayed at about six months or so. Humans have differing opinions on when it should be done – some think younger is better, others (usually more old-school types) say 6 months. The one thing your humans need to be careful of is to make sure there is NO way for you to get out when you’re cycling! The call of nature is very strong and mancats will come around and encourage you to escape. It’s kind of irresistible and it’s up to your humans to keep all possible escape routes sealed.
